March 23, 2020 - There are 315 confirmed cases of COVID-19
in Croatia and 9 new cases this morning. Five patients recovered. There are
currently 309 active cases in Croatia.

315 Coronavirus Cases in Croatia
As of March 23, 2020, 306 patients with coronavirus
(COVID-19) had been reported in Croatia.
Note that koronavirus.hr now maps cases by county instead of
city / town. The index continues to map coronavirus cases by city / town. Total
Croatia News will share the maps from both sources and will include the date /
time of the last map update. Koronavirus.hr will update its card after the
daily press conferences at 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CET. Index map updates
happen regularly.
A deceased Istra man was infected with the coronavirus, but
his cause of death has not been confirmed (previous maps showed his death as
the first coronavirus patient).
These two maps will be updated throughout the day when the
locations of the 52 additional cases are revealed.
More than 14,923 people died from the virus, which
originated in the city of Wuhan, China. More than 343,818 cases have been
confirmed worldwide. There are 262,725 cases outside of mainland China. Italy
has reported 59,138 cases and 5,476 deaths.
UPDATE: March 23, 2020 4:00 p.m. CET (Central European Time)
4:29 pm: The police denounced all the people who gathered in
Glina, because there were more than 5. All were reported to the national
inspectorate. The penalty is 8,000 HRK.
16:27: 2757 tests carried out, 33 others are in progress.
4:21 p.m .: A total of 315 people have been diagnosed with
coronavirus in Croatia.

Today was another slightly stronger earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.3. 111
people were taken care of in the student dormitory in Cvjetno naselje,

3:44 pm: A corona evening was held at Daruvar Toplice last

Large numbers of people gathered at Daruvarske Toplice last
night, according to the portal. Many of them are older. The photos show a group
of people sitting in the hall speaking without following the prescribed
measures to avoid social contact of at least two meters, much less the measures
of protection or self-isolation.
Mira Zakora, director of Daruvarske Toplice, did not answer
her cell phone when she was called by journalists from the aforementioned
portal.
Damir Lnenicek, mayor of Daruvar, is appalled by the
situation.
3:40 pm: Among the three new coronaviruses infected in the
Varaždin region is a Varaždin county clerk, the county confirmed on Monday.
In the county they say that the clerk has not been at work
for six days due to fever and symptoms of respiratory illnesses, and today she
was hospitalized at Varaždin general hospital with a moderate clinical picture.
The people who were in close contact with her were mapped,
and they are five officials for whom decisions of self-isolation were made.
3.13pm: Bozinovic and Beros provided new information on the
coronavirus. Beros said experts have confirmed that the Zagreb arena, where
patients are to be housed, is one of the safest buildings in Zagreb. Bozinovic
said that the coronavirus was the biggest enemy at the moment and announced
that he would take increasingly strict measures.

2:24 p.m: Secretary of State Danijel Mestric of the Ministry
of Construction tested positive for the coronavirus. He was hospitalized in
Varaždin.
2:01 p.m. Some residents slept in their cars near Sljeme
last night due to damage to their home caused by the earthquake.

1:55 p.m: A doctor has been infected in Karlovac county,
seven of his colleagues are not isolated.
1:53 p.m: The infected man from Karlovac owns a business in
Osijek. At the headquarters of the civil protection headquarters in Osijek, it

On Saturday, three new cases in Istria, one was already in
contact with an infected person and two came from the risk zone. One is a

area, particularly Spain.
A total of 32 people are positive for coronavirus in the
county of Istria, two of them are foreign nationals who have been returned to
their country and 29 have been hospitalized. A person has an increased need for
oxygen, but none is on a respirator. 12 women and 17 men were hospitalized.

12:45 pm: Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic announced new
strict movement restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19. You can read a

12:44 p.m: There are cases of coronavirus infection in Sinj,
including a public officer. The mayor is isolated.
12.43 p.m: Pharmacies across Croatia will have reduced

website that due to the state of emergency in Zagreb, the tax offices in Zagreb

Entry into Republic of Croatia
From midnight on March 19, 2020; crossing the border into
the Republic of Croatia is temporarily limited. Croatian citizens and residents
will be allowed to return to Croatia, which means they can travel to the
country where they work and reside and must follow the instructions and
measures of the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) at their return.
These measures came into force at 12:01 a.m. on March 19, 2020 and are valid

Social Distancing Measures Implemented
Also on March 19, 2020; it is compulsory to strictly observe
anti-epidemic measures and strict measures of social distance. A strict measure
of social distance requires avoiding close personal contact at a distance of at
least:
- Two (2) meters indoors
- One (1) meter outside
The anti-epidemic measures required under this decision
include a ban on holding all public events, gatherings of more than 5 people in
one place and the suspension of all retail and commercial activities.
