“All Board Exams Throughout the Country Cancelled”, Says Shafqat Mehmood
Speaking after the National Coordination Committee meeting
in Islamabad today, Shafqat Mahmood said that all provinces decided to keep
schools closed until July 15.
He added: "All the examinations of the Board of Directors have been canceled, and the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students will be promoted for the next semester based on the results obtained in the previous semester."
He said that a student can obtain admission to a university
based on the results of the eleventh semester.
Shafqat Mahmoud added that the decision was taken by
consensus of all governorates, and that students will be able to join the next
class once the school is reopened in July.
Moreover, the government decided to lift the closure
restrictions starting from Saturday (May 9), Prime Minister Imran Khan
announced on Thursday.
In a briefing to the meeting of the National Coordination
Committee to end the closure via Pakistan, he said that the decision was taken
in consultation with all provincial prime ministers.
The premier stressed the importance of monitoring social
spacing and maintaining discipline to combat coronary war. He said the closure
was lifted to facilitate the lives of people, especially those who receive
daily salaries.
The Prime Minister added that 35 percent of revenue
collection has decreased, while exports have also decreased. Workers and small
businesses suffered a lot because of the closure in the country.
